At the end of the BBSH residental training in Miami, people who decided to stay experienced the power of a hurricane... the pictures are not as spectactular as if you watch TV, but imagine the power and also the damage afterwards that came over Miami: after days, most of the huge town still did not have electricity, fights for gas, water and food. The sheraton hotel is made as an evacuation center and we were all save there and only realized that it has been strong when our flights got cancelled (had to stay 3 extra days). what i experienced th most intense was that feeling of being on a boat/ferry while having class in the hotel though I am sure the hotel did not shake that bad.

  • but guess what: BBSH students were holding together and we all had a powerful time!
  • when I came back later in the moring I found that try lying on the road.
  • The hotel became a new name (the "s" came off), be sure you make reservation at the "..Heraton" next time :)
  • ...here another view higher up.
  • all of the sudden it got dark for a second
  • I could not sleep from 2.20am anymore and the wind just increased more and more along with some heavy rain.
  • I went outside on the protected fire stairs of the hotel and walked up and down all 12 floors, taking pictures of that tree ..
  • Miami got darker and darker and you could see all the blue firework on the sky from collapsing transformators.
  • feel the power...
  • and other trees got damaged as well
  • this another spot in the parking lot
